1. Check this article for a little dose of reality when it comes to getting healthy and in-shape; lifestyle change is what counts, not the Band-Aids of “fat-burners” or what have you.  She asks: “Are you prepared to use those for the rest of your life? No?  Then throw them away”

2. According to new research from the Annals of Internal Medicine, Low-Carb diets beat high-carb for HEALTH.  You read that right!  “A low-carbohydrate diet is associated with favorable changes in cardiovascular disease risk factors at 2 years.”

Check out these tips from Franco Columbu on Powerlifting (remember this is a guy who was winning the 1977 World’s Strongest Man competition until he grotesquely destroyed his leg).  A couple seem a little “out-there” but overall the message is sound.  Sometimes it’s necessary to read these types of things to jog your brain on how you mentally approach your own training.  Do I do that?  Why?  Why not?  This type of self-assessment has led me to many training and overall life breakthroughs.  Also – while I don’t like his low-fat diet, he is an inspiration from a strength and aesthetic stand point.
