Franco Columbu is Awesome

Franco Columbu = very strong dude

I love Franco Columbu.  If you haven’t seen Pumping Iron (and really, why wouldn’t you have?), you’re really missing out.  Franco was considered one of the world’s pound for pound strongest men in the 60’s and 70’s, competing in the World’s Strongest man competition.

According to his wikipedia page, he had a 525# Bench, 656# Squat and over 750# Deadlift.  This is serious strength at any size, but he competed in the under 200 pound bodybuilding division.  Check out his website and go rent/buy Pumping Iron if you haven’t seen it.

I really killed it in yesterday’s workout and legitimately crashed like Ed Corney in that video… hoping to mimic that intensity today, minus the potential for vomit.

    • 45 x 3 x 3
    • 65 x 3 x 2
    • 85 x 3
    • 105 x 3
    • 115 x 3
    • 130 x 3
    • 145 x ?
  • Press – 5 x 10 @ 40-50% 1RM
  • Chins – get some reps in, but work up to a heavy triple, something like this:
    • BW x 5 x 2
    • BW + 25 x 3
    • BW + 45 x 3
    • BW + 65 x 3
    • BW x AMRAP x 1-2 sets

  • Steak and Veggies!
