TFOD 5.24.10 (Squat)

First day of the new training split, and I’m starting with Squats.  What can I say?  I’ve been reading Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe, and if you pick this book up, you will be squatting before you know it.


  1. Z-Health Neural Warmup
  2. Squat – 5/3/1
    • 235 x 3
    • 275 x 3
    • 315 x 3
  3. Squat – 5 x 10 @ 145lbs (short rest ~ 60sec)
  4. Farmers Walks
    • 100# DB x 35-40 yards with a turn halfway x 2

This workout beat me up pretty bad, the combo of going heavy AND going short-rest/higher reps really is a great contrast.  The Farmers walks are now for sure a finisher on this day.  Just made me feel great right at the end, and made me ready to go home.  For what it’s worth, this workout took me about 50 min.

Heroes are never forgotten, but legends never die.
